before it was made for Atari Jaguar, Rayman was planned for Super Nintendo, the game have changed a lot since its first version:

Holy crap. I never knew that Rayman was originally going to be on the SNES. They changed the art style for CD and scrapped 2 player. That scorpion enemy was redone for the final game as well.

Y'know, I've been complaining for a long time about Rayman, but apparently I have no say anymore. I had come up with a character I was drawing and posting online with a similar disconnected limbs setup before Rayman ever came out.

I guess it's a baseless claim if it was in development that early. :x

Look at what I found on Unseen 64.

A beta Rayman for PSX/Saturn/Jaguar.
