Whilst you're there IUG, Narstyle plz. ;P

But yeah, I'm about 30~40% now. I'm expecting high things of this game, more than that of a certain WALL OF DEATH filled and MINECARTIN' Sonic game.

this one is great and on the hard side, I assure you.

Yes please. That'd be very awesome. "Hinchy".

also sometime if you folks aren't busy I might stream up some of this game if any of you want to watch and tell me to do things. i barely got my streaming setup working and while it's not quite perfect (the fact that my (admittedly free) capture card only works under Windows XP is problematic) it's definitely good enough for now, and i kinda wanna do some stuff with it.

Nice to hear... NSMB wii was a letdown... It was still mario but felt kinda soul-less. What about the OST in this one? GustyGarden-level-of-quality themes?

Still haven't played but a few minutes of the first one, and was unimpressed. I assume it gets legions better by everyone's praise of it.

I really do wanna give it a shot.

Galaxy 2 seems alright. Only played the few few worlds, can't say I like the new Observatory-like thing. It's kinda Sonic Adventure 2'd us. Galaxy gave us a pretty large and interesting area to explore in-between levels, Galaxy 2 gives you a small planet and a world map. There's also some annoyances with that as well, like when you encounter Hungry Luma's on the world map, you go back to the planet to feed it, then back to the world map to go to the galaxy you just created. Why not just feed the Luma on the world map?

But oh well. Seems fun. I'll be sure to pick it up after it's released. Which wont be until June 11 over here. Yippee!

Got it all downloaded, will burn it tonight and play it either late tonight or tomorrow morning. And midnight launches in the US? I read that they were doing early openings instead of midnight launch due to kiddy's.

oh wells. Looking forward to it. Played some NSMBWii with Uni friends last night and to say the least, it's still good fun when you're with friends who want to dick about, friends who want to beat it together, or beat it together with a vindictive approach to it. But this isn't a NSMBW thread. So i'll just add to this NSMBW paragraph that the game blows single player unlike it's uh, DS counterpart. But that could be due to portablility.

PS. Thanks for the name change IUG.

Yeah i have to say, they have outclassed themselves with the OST. Some people thought that the first one's OST was all over the top, BIG ORCHESTRA but this game seems to of calmed down and gone like, trained up (pokemon style) and come back to kick ass without showing off it's "I'M THE BIG MUSIC INTRO" kinda thing.

Also glad to hear mixes of old tunes / less of the same repeated rift which I still think is going to occur in ANY of SMG2's song but as i hear more music, it becomes less likely.

[22:20:04] Overlord: I got back in from bootsale-ing about 12ish
[22:20:17] Overlord: Then after some sort out I started playing Super Mario Galaxy
[22:20:37] Overlord: When I clocked off a little while ago the Wii said the time was 9 hrs 44, though that will include the time I stopped for tea
[22:20:37] Overlord: =P
[22:21:07] ******: lol
[22:21:15] ******: playing SMG in preparation for SMG2? :P
[22:21:35] Overlord: Kind of
[22:21:44] Overlord: I doubt I'll be playing SMG2 anywhere near the time I get it
[22:21:57] Overlord: But I've gone from about 16/17/18 stars total today to, uh
[22:22:08] Overlord: the number on the floor of the observatory reading "02"
[22:22:14] Overlord: I think that's 58 stars total
[22:22:23] ******: heheh cool
[22:22:36] Overlord: I doubt I'll go back to the game to get 120 after I see the ending
[22:22:56] ******: lol
[22:23:00] ******: it gets bloody hard
[22:23:11] Overlord: At the same time I'll probably keep doing multiple missions for stars until I get to a point where the ones left I can't do, then go for the ending =P

SMG1, because for one thing 2 isn't out here for another 3 weeks. =P Really needed to sit down and spend some time on the first one.

Man, 120 stars is easy up until about 100~ stars. Then you're into hunting for comets and secret stars. But easily do-able without guides. Quite fun to do as well. Your reward, by the way, is to do it all over again.

Too bad the game has zero replay value and just a few stages are fun in the first place.
But I hear that SMG2 is really better than the disappointing first one so I am getting some hopes up...

You know, I was bored with the Wii and sold it after buying Super Mario Galaxy 1, but to say that one game was a disappointment would be wrong. I sold it because the whole system was lackluster, but it sure wasn't at the fault of Super Mario Galaxy (more towards Super Smash Brothers Melee, but that's not the point of this topic).
