(Don't think this is anywhere yet)

Seems to be that big random thing from the Spaceworld video (YouTube). It's labeled as "hinokuri2" and found in the test room files (/data/scene/test11.szs). That skull-like object is named "hinokuri2_mask_model" and has a right and left side variants (with a jagged bit down the middle, meaning it was supposed to be broken off). The large thing also has a bunch of animation files for walking/getting hit/pooping out goop/etc; the mask only has one for when it takes damage. The test room files also hold an object that's labeled "soccergoal_model", which is a cardboard box with some arrows and "GOAL" written on it; I didn't see it in the test room, though. It has a little animation for when (assumingly) the soccer ball that's in the test room is kicked into it (closes and spins around).

I'm using bmdviewer2 to view these models, if anyone cares.

There's some other crap in here (also found what appears to be an old silhouette title screen), but I'm not done going through all the files yet, and I'll update the this post/X-Egg article when I'm done with this stuff.

-Not beta, but there's a dock slightly off screen in the options menu that you can't see at all. Also, all of Mario's FLUDD gear and a shine spirit with all its animations are loaded here, according to the files.

A lot of the maps load enemies and objects that are never used in the levels (ex: Bianco Hills loads up a Boo and gates (flipping ones and such), which I don't recall being in there at all).

-Old names for the FLUDD's water and Yoshi's spit.

-Found in the files for the opening credits (Nintendo, Dolby, etc).

-Remenants of an old title screen (note: they're fully black). I couldn't find any sort of color. Are there any pictures of the E3 or Spaceworld versions of Sunshine's title screen? As that could possibly be it.

There is also a BMG file in the directory with this title screen stuff (called "marisun_stage.bmg") which reads:

Quote

Delfino AirStrip Delfino Plaza Bianco Hills Ricco Harbor Gelato Beach Pinna Park Sirena Beach Pianta Village Noki Bay Corona Mountain Scale Map Test Map

I don't know of a "scale map." Maybe it was eventually combined into the test map, or something (since the test map is labled "test11," so it could've been updated at some point).

---

In the "common" szs file, there's a bunch of text and random things. BMGs hold game dialogue and titles, and there's a few interesting little things (all viewable via throwing the file into notepad):

Road to the Big Windmill Down with Petey Piranha! The Hillside Cave Secret Red Coins of Windmill Village Petey Piranha Strikes Back The Secret of the Dirty Lake Shadow Mario on the Loose The Red Coins of the Lake Red Coin Riddle 1 Red Coin Riddle 2

-These are all names for the missions in Bianco Hills (the file then continues onto every level). The thing is these "Red Coin Riddle" labels; I'm fairly certain they are names for the shines obtained by the timed runs for red coins in the a capella-Mario portions of levels ("Secret of the x"). Last I checked, they never actually had names.

DELFINO AIRSTRIP DELFINO PLAZA BIANCO HILLS RICCO HARBOR GELATO BEACH PINNA PARK SIRENA BEACH PIANTA VILLAGE NOKI BAY CORONA MOUNTAIN Scale Map Test Map 1 Test Map 2 reserved Option

-Similar to the one above, this one also makes reference to the scale map. However, there's also a "test map 2," in there as well. I've found no trace of any other test map than the one that everyone knows about.[/quote]

Also within the common directory are a few other images I found:

I have no idea what they could be used for, honestly.

Yeah, I never thought we'd ever get to see that odd monster (which looks more like something from Zelda, by the way).

I assumed that's what it did, anyway. There's a little opening on it's rear, which looks like the tie at end of a balloon. However, after looking at the Spaceworld video again, it seems it shoots out the top. But when I viewed the animation initially ("hinokuri2_c_open"), that's what I thought it was doing.

-Here's the model of the thing, with all animations, and a dumped model (it's in *.3ds format). It does have a hurt animation, "clack," which loads up some shocked eyes.

-Here's bmdview2, since the thread on emutalk is probably long gone by now. It requires installing, though.

To get the monster to appear in the way I have in the image above, hold down "Q" in bmdview2. Otherwise, it'll appear weird and transparentish.

How did you convert the model to 3ds? I haven't found any tools to convert GC models, only Thakis' viewer.

There's an export function in bmdview. So, you answered your own question?...

Actually, if you wouldn't mind doing that, that'd be great.

If anyone wants the files for the Goal model, or something else, tell me and I'll upload it.

If you have anything hidden or unused at all, zip it all up as png's for me and put it on mediafire or something. PM me with it if you could.
