Something I mentioned in the Family Forum was that we should start covering games coming out, because it makes it the easiest to compile pre-release information on games. For example, this Epic Mickey game looks twisted as shit, and I might have to find someone who has a Wii and borrow their system to try this game. I can't believe that Disney is this fucked up now.

So I'm going to use this topic to be an image dump for the media I find. Right now it's just pictures, it's probably going to have videos out soon before the game comes out. I'm not treating this like a game news post (talking about release dates and whatnot), but these pre-release images should apply.

Anyways, here comes 14 megs of images.








































A couple of things I noticed:
* Those "splat" monsters, they might mutate between fucked-up and normal rabbits depending if they're standing on normal land, or land corrupted by turpentine. This is just a guess.
* Notice in the gameplay shots with the GUIs. It seems that there is a changing icon depending on Mickey's health.
* There appear to be Disney bucks or some kind of currency in the game. One of the shots shows a green bill on a floating platform.
* I'm guessing there's some flashback stuff going on while in the game. It would explain the normal looking Oswald 3D render, and why they're trying to shoot rockets in Futureland.
* So far we're seeing characters from Aladdin, Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs, Dumbo, Hercules, Peter Pan, Winney the Fucking Pooh even, the Disney Parks, and hell even Epcot Center.

The screenshots don't quite match up with the Nightmarefuel concept art, but this still looks brilliant.

That's because the nightmarefuel was only to get the in-game stuff to look tame in comparison.

Fuck these guys. They leak all that awesome concept art, get my hopes up, and then the game looks like a THQ licensed title from 2002.

Just remember, my idea and original idea for doing this topic was to try to promote the idea of gathering proto screenshots of games before they are released. I know there has to be a lot of anticipation for some future games, so I was hoping that someone would be doing something similar to this topic for another game. For example, I would like to see assets gathered up for Assassins Creed 2, for one.

I think he'd be happy that they're using his creation AT ALL. If he's rolling in his grave over anything it's all the stupid Hannah Montana/Jonas Brothers crap they keep coming out with. Only place you ever see Mickey and the gang anymore is on that preschool show they have or at the theme parks (which are, judging by what I saw when I went there last June, very slowly but surely being taken over by aforementioned crap). Oh yeah, and Kingdom Hearts.

Frankly Mickey should have become public domain years ago, Disney needs to actually MAKE new material. It's just that the dross it's coming up with is utterly shite - the only decent part of Disney nowadays is Pixar.

At least they went back to 2D and started working on Frog Princess. In fact, the last good animation I heard from their animation department is Lilo and Stitch.
