Yep, X-Band for SFC is more mysterious than we thought.

So, basically:
???: Mr. Japan says "Thanks for the memories!" =P Our use of beans assures us a good taste. Take me to South Central! Hey Andy, what's the POP number?
Andy: I'll be the ROM monkey!
??? #2: You can multitask-
???: WHAT ARE THE X3 PARAMETERS?
Andy: Why should YOU beat off (jack off?) to an elephant? You don't even have to flush the toilet!
??? #2: Skank. Out of sight, out of mind.
???: Leave all Love and Hope behind...
??? #2: Squid.
Andy: Robby.
???: Ohayo!

So... yeah. What the hell.

It sounds like the Amy Chao of X-BAND. Probably just random quotes which are displayed in some form of debug menu, perhaps?

I was thinking, the x-band usually held information inside of it, like your account info, your name, your conversations. Perhaps this was the stuff left over? Maybe it's possible when dumping it they dumped the info inside it as well, who knows.

Wouldn't that have been held in SRAM rather than the ROM?

honestly, it was never an official product, there could be some wacky combination that causes it to go with the rom

Might be part of the hidden 56k programmer or a hidden editor. Still, why this? Why a weird rant in the japanese Xband and not the US one?

I'm guessing that "Andy" is Andy McFadden, one of the server engineers at Xband. His resume says that he "Spent a month in Japan, adapting the service for use with the SNES-J client."

x411, you should post all that loose text in your x-band dump. There's LOTS in that. I haven't really had much chance to mess with it, but it seems to have "news" from that era, including a mention of OJ Simpson!
