I've been playing this on and off ever since the San Andreas version came out... It's a fucking blast! There are many server mods that completely kick ass, like the freeroam scripts (there's a graphic menu in-game that allows you to spawn and pimp just about any vehicle you want, change your skin, teleport to a specific point in the map and many other things I forget)
Server mods can also spawn and place any object they want on the map like halfpipes and loop-da-loops. On free roam servers everyone hangs around the San Fierro airport because of that, it's fucking awesome

One of the servers I mod on for SAMP is switching over to MTA, should be a blast. MTA looks to have fixed a fucking ton of bugs that plagued SAMP for years.
Doesn't change the fact that the only people playing this game are socially reclusive internet gangsters and fucking ukrainians.
