Starts from about 50 seconds in.

It seems that the original concept for WarioWare was first released in Mario Artist: Polygon Studio. Polygon Studio, as it implies, is a 64DD program used to create simple 3D models. This particular portion shows how you can then use your created model (in this case, an orange GCN) as an object in minigames. I don't think the hand symbol that appears in several games can be customized, but I might be wrong. As you can see, many of the games shown here are also in the first WarioWare game, in some form or another. The game also plays by the same rhythm the WarioWare games do (8 beats for a game, 4 beats for a win/loss screen, 4 beats for a "prepare for next game" sequence), though the 64DD version doesn't show the bomb-timer. There's even the tape deck shared between Polygon Studio and the introduction stage of the GBA game.

Noteworthy enough to do a page on?

Wow, that's pretty cool. Definitely an early version (or even the influence) for WarioWare. One question, is that orange cube, shown throughout the minigames, a gamecube?

This is very cool. i assume the gamecube in the video is the user-made polygon the person capturing the video made?

Man I can't wait for 64DD emulation.

Its cool to know where warioware got its idea from.

I found out about that Warioware thing a while ago, but that Gamecube thing is really new to me. Nevertheless, it's still a good find.

Wow, good find.

And yeah, it's rare knowledge, not many people here seemed to know about it before.

It's worth it's own page.

Hah, nice. As a Warioware fan, this is certainly interesting, and worthy of note on any Warioware list.

Man, that is cool. I played the GCN one the other day, so I immediateley identified this. And damn, this should've hit America using cartridges! It even has the excersicing intro from Mario Paint, making this even better! Still, the person who made the GCN has mad skills.

I guess the problem was that you couldn't store a lot (still, they could had added a SD card port into the cart ... but in that time, wasn't SD card expansive?)

However, I'm surprised we haven't seen every Mario Artist tweaked for the Wii with new stuff.

There's really no reason to. WarioWare took hold during the GBA era before Nintendo had a chance to re-release the Mario Artist games effectively (face it, it would have bombed as a Gamecube disc. Probably would have flourished as a WiiWare download). And now they're going one further than Mario Artist by releasing WarioWare D.I.Y which enables you to make whole minigames, not just something for use in the game.

... Wait, this is Nintendo. Expect it by Friday.

Well, I didn't mean the Wario game, but the whole Mario Artist games, with the Wii controller and the flash memory, it would be a perfect fit, hell, it would even goes well with their casual thing.

I just added the center tags, otherwise I still don't have the power to approve.
