Sonic Adventure 2 PRS and hackage

after noticing how easy it was to swap and edit images from SA:DX and/or SA1. I started toying with Sonic Adventure two files. I thought I'd test out editing shadow the hedgehog. Basically I Uncompressed the XSHADOWTEX.PRS file and it gave me the .PVM file. unfortunatley pvmedit! didn't work so I had to unpack it into individual .pvr files. Once I converted them to BMP I edited shadow's colors (somehting simple, just a color adjustment) I hexedited the PVM file with the new pvr files....Success....then I recompressed into a prs file. Also success. now the tricky part. I tried creating a self-induced version and burned it several times.. it failed. (free coasters anyone? no? how about frisbies?)Then I decided to create a non-self-induced version...success? It loads to the echelon screen then it goes back to the dreamcast desktop. From the research Iv'e gathered on this forum, and from the super sonic/sa1 hack It seems as though the 1st_read.bin file needs to be hexed, am I right? Is that why it wont go past the echelon screen? has anyone ever tried this? Success, fail?

Sonic Adventure 2 has always had problems being made to selfboot for as long as I can remember... though I never remember how we get it to work every time.

same here! I did it once before....however it was on another pc, another os, and a different burner. Not sure if thats the reason for my trouble...however everything else I burn works with no sweat. It's like echelon is locking me out or...knows when not to boot.

I could proberly get the texture's back in...I just never was able to get the BMP back into a PRS file.
