Hey there! A few of you know me, most of you don't. I'm a friend of Phugolz and a constant bootlegger of his wifi. He introduced me to X-Cult and I've been a fan ever since. One thing I don't see covered here is the use of usb keyboards to open features in PS2 games. I'll be a lame n00b and copy/paste an example

Quote

Conflict: Desert Storm # Toggle damageThis code requires a USB keyboard. While playing the game, press K to toggle damage.# Display debug position and rotationThis code requires a USB keyboard. While playing the game, press L to display your position and rotation.# Reverse aimingThis code requires a USB keyboard. While playing the game, press Y.# Pause game playThis code requires a USB keyboard. While playing the game, press X to freeze the game. Press Start to resume.# Display menuThis code requires a USB keyboard. While playing the game, press \ to toggle the menu.
Just an example. It seems there's little to no research o the subject. Anyone else find anything along these lines?

Everquest Online AdventureFirst person view:To switch to first person view, press Select. This code requires a USB keyboard. Press P during game play to switch to first person view. Your controls will be the same as they were in the third person follow type view.

Off topic, how come you've got 436 posts in such a short space of time?

When you're friends with the owner of the site, anything is possible. Don't question it.

All of it's pretty amusing sounding, I wonder if it was intentional or if it was part of the development process? I can understand developers using the keyboards to access debug features so that the controller could be used normally.

Well, when I was @ 3DO, the game "Shifters" was set up to have a bunch of debugging features set to the keyboard. My assumption is that some companies forgot to remove them. I don't remember the TRCs for sony back then
