It looks like it lifted the background from the burning Angel Island zone (or whatever it's called) from S&K.

Genocide City.I dunno, I've always found that to be a pretty hardcore name for a Sonic level. You've got, what, Casino Night, Emerald Hill, Oil Ocean... and Genocide City. It just sounds out of place, like a Cryomancer in a room of Victoria Spices.But yeah, cool find broseph

Ass-raping Turbine Zone is as fitting as Genocide City for a Sonic game. A classic one I mean. New shitty games could have it of course.Anyway I'm glad it didn't make it to the final. I have this feeling that it would be too "dark" or "sad" for a 1992 sonic game. And if that mockup is "real", damn, the concept was fugly

i was about to say that genocide seems a bit out of place, but several other people have already said it so ya. also those graphics looks horrendously shit even for a beta. and way too dark and bloody in comparison to the art direction for the rest of the entire game and it's prototype levels. even frozen lava reef was more chirpy
