Very interesting with the Sonic / Amy switch, however now you must switch Shadow with Knuckles and Silver wtih Blaze. Then you'd have the ultimate mod!

Do you think you could record some footage of Amy in 2P mode against Silver? If she has animations of him picking her up with psychokinesis we'll know for sure that she was planned as a 2P character.

That wouldn't prove anything. All the pyschokinesis is meant to do is raise the target into the air and let you control it how it does, while that target does a certain animation. That animation is probably also used with Amy at some other point in the game, so I can't imagine it being specific to two-player.I'm also sure every character has every type of animation, if, for nothing else, consitency. It doesn't imply anything specifically.

Plus there is nothing in single player that causes Amy to get held in the air in that position, from my memory at least.And correct me if I'm wrong, but don't Sonic games tend to crash when you replace a character with another and try to do something that can't be animated? Like trying to swing on poles as Knuckles in Sonic and Shadow's stages in SA2?

The reason for the crashing on swinging poles is due to programming that didn't exist for those character objects, from what I remember. If it were simply trying to call an animation that didn't exist, then it would just display garbage data (or random animations), not crash.

I agree with Tweaker on that one.. however: I was so kind to add a movie for you..Okay, I've continued a little bit.. Amy's absolutely stable now - she is mainly using Sonic's movies .. and well, she was able to finish all stages with Sonic I tested.. for removing Elise from "Princess" stages.. works too.. Hmm, interesting, I still stand by what I said earlier. Look at the way shes held in mid-air, its completely unlike her "flying through the air" pose (after the loop), the same goes for her "flying through the air" pose itself, its not used anywhere else in-game. I don't see why Amy would have psychokinesis'd animation if she was never intended to come into contact with Silver in a situation where he could pick her up, rushed or not rushed, it would be a complete waste of time if it were not planned.

Ahh, fair enough then. Though it's strange how Tikal and Rouge can swing on those poles, yet Knuckles and Chaos cause the game to crash.Thanks for the video as well, Link.

update on the Super Gem:I got the Super Gem to show up for Amy.. I guess the main problem because it was crashing all the time before was the following: when you select Gems the shoe texture is minorly changed.. for Amy I had to switch that off and now I was able to swap the equip IDs of the green gem and the super gem.. probably Sonic crashed when the show texture should have changed!the Super Gem now showed up in the gauge however Amy did they same as she did with the green one (as she can't perform the Tornado she simply flapped her arms).. I guess this is the reason: LUA seems to control the interface, however C code controls their actions.. and the LUA code interpreted equipment flag 16 as "I possess the Super Gem" and showed the gem while the C code still processed 16 as the green gem.unfortunately as I originally wanted to swap Sonic to Tails (Amy was not intended) I have no idea whether that hand flapping should have been the real Super action. I decided now to swap the blue and the super gem as Amy (and probably Tails too) could use the blue gem.. however, I will do swap them on the equipment table because if this works the C code should still get the signal 2048 (for super gem).. I hope you just trust me, I wanted to take a screenshot.. but my TV card is too crappy, the rainbow gem looks like the gray gem - so I took one of the gray one and the rainbow gem.. the difference is minimal unfortunately!but for now: expect work on this now!and of course: if I get the super gem to work.. I am normally never connected... only for specific downloads.. I am also reading about M$ banning people!It seems I belong to those who might still get on.. Samsung MS25 with Xtreme5.3 - but currently the forums about it are in an unreadable state, some people say "banned" others not.. I'll wait until I have a real confirmation that my chances are high to stay..Edit: Okay I checked for me.. I am NOT BANNED.. yet...

Although I generally share the opinion that the game does nearly all completely wrong I disagree on that point: the Super Sonic possibility would barely fit into the game story.. yet to admit: no gem really fits.. or do we need them.. yellow.. helpful! Red.. too.. BLUE??? Just for fun perhaps, in stages useless.. green? Useless if you ask me? Gray: Also? Purple: okay, due to the fact that Sonic can fly it gets useful.. reading the LUA code I really get the feeling that this is no bug (the delay how long you have to wait until you can do a new jump command is set in LUA) but was intended!
