Posted ImageVia SEGAKatana.comThe NEC ARC1A PowerVR PWH-6032 prototype PCI board (also known as the Set 2.1 Dreamcast Development Kit) is one of the oldest prototype Dreamcast development hardware. This PCI board can be connected to a computer running the Microsoft Windows 95 operating system and can be programmed with Microsoft Visual Studio 5.0.It also has a VGA and video composite output ports to view demos on a television set or a computer monitor.Posted Image Posted ImageThe Dreamcast development unit after the NEC ARC1A was the early Set 4 Katana Development box, still in prototype stages, followed by the Set 5, which includes the HKT-01 Sega Dreamcast/Katana Development Box.Posted Image Posted Image The NEC ARC1A PowerVR PWH-6032 prototype PCI board can only be used with the Katana Development Software - Release 2.Here are videos of four Ninja demos for the NEC ARC1A:Spinning Compact Disc:http://www.youtube.c...h?v=8Ot_QZ9VFE8Drive 2:http://www.youtube.c...h?v=CUhIH-kDLRIFishman:http://www.youtube.c...h?v=L3Mdk4m5vMgScud Race:http://www.youtube.c...h?v=mkPCzDn2j1o

Those videos aren't there. EDIT: Now they're back. wtfux? Also, this is a pretty cool find. It'll be interesting to see footage of the demos, because even though Drive 2 and Scud Race have been captured and uploaded before, the site that hosted the videos is down now.Incidentally, I love Toshihiro Nagoshi's reason for Scud Race not getting ported fully: "A lot of people really wanted it, but... We didn’t because...huh, I really don’t know why. [laughs]"

Wow, I gotta say, impressive stuff here. The Spinning Compact Disc video is an absolute prelude to the spinning discs found in the Dreamcast bios, however, this demo appears to have a shiny labeled disc, much like what Microsoft uses on their authentic products. That would have been amazing if Dreamcast discs were the same way, ah well.

Holy shit, I remember seeing this game in arcades and then seeing shots in a magazine halfway through the Saturn's life claiming that this is what the next Sega console would be able to do.This is a second fucking Sega arcade racing game that I ficking hoped like hell would make it t o the Dreamcast, but lo and behold New Sega fucking let me down at the time again.. Here's hoping that we see Super GT and Daytona 2 on a home consoles sometime in the next decade.T____T Fishman is pretty fucking creepy though
