download, mirror, etc.Released on my birthday, too =P It's a one-level demo. I personally prefer the music in this over that in the final, which is quite different, if I recall. It works on my M3 SD. The ROM boots in the emulator DeSmuME 0.5, but the title screen is in Japanese (not so on the real hardware), the graphics are garbled, and it locks up before the game is playable. If you have a means of playing backups on your own DS, however, check it out =)Have fun.[/quote]

Presumably Leaf Storm, since that's the only level I recall seeing videos of from the E3 demo back in the day. =PSounds interesting, I always wanted to hear full versions of the alternate title music and Leaf Storm music (although a drastically shortened version of the latter made it into the final as "Blaze Appears"). Any chance of a recording of the music for those of us who don't have the means to play this on our DS's?Wonder if there's any unused stuff left over in this.. =P Knowing SEGA and their laziness with demos (unused images / music in Sonic Heroes E3 demo, anyone?) ..

Sure is.Letting the game run the demo in DeSmuME 0.5 will play the music and show a small bit of the level, though it won't initialize the actual 3D, it seems, and crashes as a result. The title screen music is right there, though, and booting up the game normally in the emulator lets you hear it in its fully glory.I also bet this is the build with the old Sonic voices, and the ability to dash in midair. Glad you guys decided to get this after all - excellent find!

Those with Minidisc players may have a male-to-male earphone lead. Stick that into the DS headphone port and one into the line in. Then record off the soundcard with something like SoundForge or whatever. Works a charm. Make sure it's the line in port, headphone port is mono, don't forget. =PEDIT: Also massive props to anyone who decompiles this using those tools. They won't work on my PC so I can't try it. =/

Meh, I cheated. Here's a raw extraction directly from the ROM.First as MP3 files:http://www.filefacto...om/file/d25253/Then, at about half the download size, the music converted to Impulse Tracker (.IT) modules:http://www.filefacto...om/file/29a9e1/(Pitch bends are fucked up in the .IT versions, but otherwise they sound fine.)

There aren't any misc files laying around with any music data for the other levels? (which Techokami tells me there's actual level data for)

can someone mirror these files elsewhere, filefactory sucks smegma covered dick because I'm about to destroy something out of frustration because I can't find the fucking download button.EDIT: Wait. Nevermind. I'm typically more adept at weeding through advertisement-laced free file host webpages, but this one slipped past me for a minute. And jesus christ, those .IT files sound like ASS. I'm waiting for the MP3s to finish and see if the demo music really IS that bad or not.EDIT 2: No, they sound better. Why does the demo music sound so familiar? I've played all the Advance games to some degree, but not enough to remember the music, is it similar to something from one of them? Or does it sound like Cha-la Head Cha-la or something like that... meaning I'm fucking crazy.

I agree with you. The title screen music reminds me of Sonic Pinball party's Title Screen. The Leaf Storm BGM... I can't put my finger on yet. (Well, the melody part sounds familar, not the Blaze Appears part)

Wow, that title music sounds like crap, with the typical Sonic Advance BUZZBZZZBZUZZZUBZZBUZZ.About the others... They sound a bit Megaman-ish, don't they? I'm glad they redid all the music.

I mean, the "title" one is obvious, but what specifically were SEQ_S1, S1b, S1b3 and S1C from?

SEQ_S1 is the Leaf Storm musicSEQ_S1_b is the boss.SEQ_S1_b2 is the boss after 2(?) hits.SEQ_S1_C is the level cleared music.

Wow, I didn't knew the DS synth was understood on the level that there are preliminary .IT converters for it. I wish someone would do a converter like that for the Saturn synth, the current midi+soundbank converter is pretty horrible.Nice job on releasing the rom too.
Tell me all you know about tracked music *shakes fist* :P You should never have introduced me to Foobar, as it has opened up a fucking flood of new interests for me -_-

I'm curious, who is Sonic's VA in this? I know in some of the early videos with this music he still used Ryans voice.
