New York.I can't seem to find the link that confirms this (it's been ALL OVER the news, but no sources), but Reader's Digest magazine ran a whole bunch of tests in several sites on the globe, and NYC came out on top.

Personally I thought New York (like many major American cities) were chock full of crime and such. I guess Americans have a friendlier point of view since the events of 9-11.I was expecting somewhere in Canada as well.

"New York. The city so nice, they named it twice!"Seems a bit strange how that would be the most polite place, but then again I guess I guess most criminals and unpolite people must think it's too cliche a place to hang out... either that or the whole survey was made up to make New York feel better.

Ugh, anadotical evidence... at least they say it's not scientific, but then you shouldn't even publish the results of the "study". Of course people are going to give you directions and resturant recomendations, they apporoached you. Also, compairing it to Paris... hey, guess what? You're a foriengeer there, of course you're not going to get treated the same.

This IS something that would be difficult to scientifically judge, but yeah, I don't think I like their methods.

I'm not from Canada and even I think the nicest city has to be somewhere in Canada. How is it New York? Crime and all that shit must of not been a huge factor.

I can see how NYC is the safest city. Take this scenario for exaplible:New York:Guy: "Oh god HELP! I'VE BEEN SHOT! I NEED TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL!!"New Yorker: "Dail 911 on your cell phone you dumbass!"Guy: "Oh... that's.. a pretty good idea"Canada:Guy: "Oh god HELP! I'VE BEEN SHOT! I NEED TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL!!"Canadian: "Hi there stranger! Whats your name?Guy: "Please! I need help! I'm loosing so much blood"Canadian: "Silly billy, that's just cranberry jam! Somebody needs a hug"Guy: "Are you retarded? Omg everything is blurry"Canadian: "Come sing a song with me!"Guy: "Everything... suddenly... so warm..."Canadian: "aww he's sleeping... Let's sing a song of togetherness!"
