First off, if you haven't, read this. Right. I also have played this game. I played it years ago. Unfortunately, I never had a camera on me or anything. And I never thought of bringing one. And now, the arcade that this was at has been completely demolished. Buut, I found these:
http://forums.x-cult.org/index.php?showtop...445&hl=coin
I personally suggest that someone reupload the avi in that topic because it's expired. Also, I googled and found this:
http://www.patentstorm.us/patents/7128644.html
It's the patent with designs of it! However, the site requires you to login, but using the powers of bugmenot, I have uploaded it here: http://jsonicserver.no-ip.org/files/61/soniccoinpatent.pdf
Also, I suggest that the image/s here get reuploaded:
http://forums.x-cult.org/index.php?showtopic=1155&hl=
...So yeah. Just thought I'd share that. Should probably be added to the Sonic Cult Page or something...Anyways...discuss...

No, it shouldn't. Unless you can find something unused with it, or special about it, there's no point in updating it. If you've seen it before, congrats, if not, use google. Thanks.

Please to be the shutting the fuck up. He's captured some information that went missing and rehosted it himself. He's not dictating stuff really, he's trying to consolidate it. And with the new XEgg coming out, we're going to need this.

google patents entry for the thing, so no login or no-ip shenanigans needed

Thanks. I suggest everyone uses that link, so jsonic'ssever doesn't get bandwidth raped. Oh and yeah, I wouldn't have posted this topic if it didn't have any new info. :P

Listen, I submitted work to be posted on the Sonic the Fighters page for years, and no one was doing anything with it. If he wants an update to the page so badly, he can create his own page if he wants to, coding it all to be ported into x-cult. Also, coin rolling redemption games aren't really a big priority here, we've got over 1,500 other titles that need some real work. Prototype and beta materials. In fact, I could run over to a local pizza joint and do an entire write-up on <a href="http://www.americanvending.com/html/amusement/redemption/sonic_tail/sonic_tails.htm" target="_blank">this</a>, and describe how it has three different reversions. But the fact of the matter is, this redemption machine has been brought up many times through various incarnations of the CulT, and no one has really cared much enough about it to do anything with it, as you have well seen from the other topics. I mean, it'd be nice if it did have an update, but all you've done so far is link us to our own topics and show us a patent that took someone five seconds to find on google's patent archive. Oh, and here are the pictures you wanted to be reuploaded, by the way.

My point here is, I don't want people to hand stuff over, I'd like to see what they could do with it all. God knows it took me ages to get people to stop thinking Honey the Cat was a bear and/or a joke character.
Turbohog
Thanks for the pictures...but I think you are really really overreacting. I'm sorry for saying it should be added to the Sonic Cult page. I guess, for some reason, that's horrible to say. So sorry. I honestly don't care if it is updated...

No, you shut the fuck up. Listen, I submitted work to be posted on the Sonic the Fighters page for goddamn years, and no one was doing shit with it. Also, coin rolling redemption games aren't the fucking priority here, we've got over 1,500 other titles to chose from. In fact, I could run over to SHARKEY'S PIZZA and do an entire write-up on this bitch here, and how it has three different reversions. But the fact of the matter is, the redemption machine has been brought up many times through various incarnations of the CulT, and FYI, no one cares about it. You want those pictures? Here! I saved them back in 2006.

THE INTERNET THANKS YOU, but Cult doesn't work on praise. So you're saying it's fine for you to do the pictures, but when this guy wants to share the same info, he has to go to hell? It's not on the site, how's he supposed to know the EPIC JOURNEYS AND CONQUEST OF THE BIGGEST SONIC FAN when they're undocumented on this site?

You're taking this a little out of context. A guy gets a bit nostalgic, and wishes to look up some info on the redempton game. Well, he found it within the CulT's fourms, and notices the site doesn't document it well.

The thing is, no one cares. CulT does not work on praise, it DOES work on collaboration. I'd like the guy to offer to make a page, but he hasn't. He's asking for things which are going to be a little harder to come by. I mean, if we're all this gung-ho about it, I can contact a few arcades who I know used to have the machine and ask for some info on how to obtain one. But is it really worth all the trouble?

The main point of the topic was to share the patent...That's all. And I was linking to other topics in case if someone had not read them...

Jesus christ, BSF, shut the fuck up. The guy found something not on the site and has an obvious desire to contribute, so leave him the fuck alone and let him do something to expand the credibility and content of this website.

I swear to god, this is why new people never want to fucking contribute here. They've got assholes like you right there to bash them into next week for even trying, especially when their contribution is valid despite being old. This is something not on the website that should be on the website, and nobody would have even noticed that if he didn't point it out.

Quite frankly, if there's one thing nobody cares about, it's how you were treated in the past while trying to contribute. You're in the CulT Family group, aren't you? Isn't that a status symbol denoting that you have contributed towards this website and are a respectable member? What else could you possibly want? It shouldn't be about rewards, but you got one anyway. Stop being so goddamn selfish.

Anyway Turbohog, thanks for pointing all of this out! Once X-Egg goes mainstream, you or somebody else can feel free to add this somewhere onto the website. Then we won't have this problem again. ;)

Fine, I'll just shut up, but one last thing. As stated, the guy just really wanted to point out the patent, and a bit of information about the game using the various resources we once had.

I don't usually bash on people at all. I welcome new and helpful information. While the main contribution wasn't extremely valid, which is a generic patent which happens to refrece the machine (among many others with various other companies), bringing the fact that the page does need updating is somewhat helpful.

You're absolutely right. I guess I forgot how much it hurt back when I was trying... It definately a big wrongdoing on my part. I did edit my post once I had cooled down, but it was already too late. I'm definately willing to code up a page for the redemption game, however with as much information as I can if that might help in some way, to help prevent things like this from happening again.

Like I said, I'll work on something. I'll see if I can't get ahold of a scanned manual. Actually, Retro has a very nice and comprehensive article going for the redemption game...
Turbohog
Yeah, they do have a pretty good article for it over there. Provides flyer scans too. And I could work on the page also, if you don't want to. Thanks to you all.
