What's wrong with the top right image?

Also, lovely screenshot of debug mode placing rings below it.

- Look at the Sonic Boom Boy box. It talks about the S monitor

It you're really lucky you'll find a very special icon that gives Sonic both powers at once

- 15 levels each split into 5 acts?

That 'Sonic Spectrums?' section sounds interesting - imagine a home computer version of the game. =P

that's what i get for not caring or reading! Now we know that in some point in Sonic 1's dev cycle the 'S' TV actually was in the game, AND it worked. But 5 X 15? That's 75 levels.... Even including the final stage and the 6 special stages it only ends up being 25 levels max, I believe. Plus now we have (more) evidence that the "Press start button" was actually active at one point.

There are fifteen sprawling platform levels, each split into five acts.
So much for the Queen's english. It's interesting that US Gold bought the rights to program home computer versions of the game and nothing came to fruition though.

CVG is notorious for misinformation, I would take whatever's here with a pinch of salt as sometimes CVG like to imagine facts, always have done.

Also, these screenshots have all been seen before, they were most likely blanket screens which were handed out to magazines. I'm sure I've also seen that "Press Start Button" screen too, but can't find it on CulT. Either way, it's obvious the Press Start Button text was used in-game at one point or another, it was fully programmed and simply just disabled in the final build. I believe I accidental activated it once just dicking around with the split disassembly, odd thing was, I wasn't even editing anything to do with it. I'm just that bad good. =P

Perhaps they were just told about it, along with other possible features still in development. But either way, it's nice to know it was supposed to do the same than in Sonic CD.
