would any of these SA1 Protos be 60fps by any chance?
BloodyGir
DRX - Just, awesome!
There's the SA 1 Proto for dreamcast!, now, we can see if the lost things are in the proto, for example THAT lost level.

Wasn't Sonic CD 806 the Japanese final version?
moar puddin
I brought that same point up with Tweaker over a page on the Sonic Retro wiki. If anyone wants to compare the iso to a currently ripped japanese final, it would be appreciated. I would, but I don't have the iso downloaded yet.

I think you're thinking of a different build - this version of the game is missing a level and half are only accessable by level select.

Nope. 08061993 is the japanese final, US final is 10061993.

Notice that the header calls it "SONIC THE HEDGEHOG-CD SAMPLE" basically, its a review/sample/demo of the final japanese build with only PPZ playable. And not a prototype at all.
And I have no fucking clue what you're talking about, there are no missing levels. All are selectable from level select.

Prototypes were/are usually called samples in Japan (sanporu or something like that). Or not for sale software. They hardly ever used the terms prototype or development.

What? Games labled Sample, Taikenban (Demo Version), Hibaihin (Not for sale) were never explicitly supposed to be prototypes. It's just that more often than not they are. However In this case, its not. Still cool it's ripped though.
So I take it this was ripped from an original pressed disc then and not a mega cd-r copy? Disc/case pics?

What are your chances of getting proper rips for 712 and 510? Hell, pach had 712 at one point but never ripped it properly.

That would be 510. Debug mode let you control a second, transparent Sonic with the second pad.
Mecha Sally
Awesomeness. Can't wait to try out the SA1 protos, if I can run them at all on here, that is.

Oh I know you ripped it. But, for one thing you never released it beyond family, IIRC. and from what I heard as recent as last year from someone who had it, if i remember right, there was something wrong with your rip, cant remember what the issue was or who told me, (borisz maybe? I honestly can't fucking remember) which is why I said "ripped it properly".
turdholefilter
the audio tracks had an audible error in one of the tracks (a pop/skip), dunno which one, I think the ones around the last levels of the game.

pachuka did a redump later but it in fact had MORE problems like that. Logically the only one to have this rerip is Jurai.
Eric Wright
Has that one specific missing level in Sonic CD ever been found? (the one where the folders go in sequential order and number 2 or 7 is missing or something like that)
ICEknight
Nope, not a single reference to it anywhere, yet.
