I know there's an other thread, but it's from April and I don't want to bump it.

First off "donkeykongoriginal" Which looks a lot like melee. There is also a diddy kong just like it, named "diddykongoriginal".

Second, they changed Pit.

Ya... What the hell. It was on IGN's brawl pages.

Better pic of Pit's changes.

Changed to...

I'll post more stuff soon.

EDIT:

Scraped trophy of Zero Suit Samus.

EDIT: Unused Mario trophy.

GrandMasterJimmy
New post, I don't want to put to many things in 1 post.

Scrapped Pikachu trophy.

Scrapped Pit trophy. Obviously Pit and Pikachu's are based off of their taunts. Pit's sword should be in his hands, but I didn't feel like fixing the model.

I'll update this post with more in a bit.

EDIT:

Scrapped Pokemon trainer trophy.

EDIT2:

Scraped Zelda Trophy. (Eye texture is messed up)

GrandMasterJimmy
Here's "didykongoriginal"

Oddly, this model is better than the final model.

Another unused trophy. (BTW the light parts, are messed up alpha maps.)

Galaxia
is there any leftovers from Melee within the game, or has that already been established as bull?
khorney
i don't think anything apart from a few references within the files.

on a somewhat related note i just finished subspace emissary, and it is the biggest piece of ass ever
GrandMasterJimmy
Ya, there's nothing from melee that I can find.

Also, I'm 99% sure that "diddykongoriginal" and "donkeykongoriginal" are the beta models. Mostly, because Dixie Kong which we know was scrapped, her trophy has the exact same texture style and her model is very similar to these.

Also, oddly the star fox assault models for Fox and Falco also are "foxoriginal" and "falcooriginal"
SMR
I'm pretty sure the -original models are all scrapped trophies showcasing older versions of the characters. Kinda like how Melee had more plasticy trophies of the characters, showing their older or original looks.
GrandMasterJimmy
Possible, but the polygon count Is way higher than other trophys. It's in the same range as players. Trophys go from around 1k polys to 2kpolys. These are higher.

Diddy Kongs hat is also more detailed in this model, than the final.
Demi
Post more stuff. It fucked me off that Eight Melodies, New Age Retro Hippe battle music, the Metal Gear Solid main theme and Beware the Forest Mushrooms are all on the disk but unused. Why would they leave those tracks out of the game? Fuckers.
K2J
I don't think they're on the disc, per se... I think there's just filename pointers with no data.

Still, Ballad of the Wind Fish would've been cool.

You can hear the Brawl mixes of them on youtube.

I'm pretty sure the songs aren't there. All attempts of editing the memory to play them does nothing.

For those who didn't know, Link kicks ass and made a wii memory editor.

Seconding all of the above. The memory editor is old news, but he recently released an app that allows users to use codes found without needing a USBGecko.

If you read this, Link, THANK YOU!
GrandMasterJimmy
That's what I'm talking about, as I doubt most people here have a usbgekko.

I found a file for mewtwo, in the sound effects.

Folder named "snd_group_chara_select"

There's a sound named snd_vc_select_mewtwo.

No data in it, the only data there, is from the brawl sound converter, that makes the sounds into waves.

CODE
RIFF$...WAVEfmt .........>...}......data....

I'm also guessing this "snd_group_chara_select" folder is beta character select, as, it sounds like they used a microphone they found in the dumpster behind walmart, and Sonic's sound is not his voice like the other characters, just the end of a score tally sound.

If you guys wanna check out the folder, be my quest, I'll upload it.
drak
Actually, that folder is probably just for the sounds that play from the wiimote when you select a character in the final game. All the wiimote sounds are tinny and awful, and Sonic does indeed just have a "chuggachuggaching" noise instead of a quote when you select him.
GrandMasterJimmy
Oh, I'll try selecting a character with the wiimote. I never played with the wiimote, nor have the volume on the remote turned on.

It's a ring collection noise. You know, the sound the Sonic games make when you pick up a ring?
GrandMasterJimmy
Actually, it isn't a ring noise, it's like the last second of the score tally. Drak was right, it's more of a "chuggachuggaching" noise.

Here's the sound.

Oops, my bad. It always sounded like a ring sound to me, but now that I listen to it clearly, it's more clear that it's the ring sound.

Regardless, I'm glad that they didn't use a voice sample.
