Hi,

My name's Mike, i'm from Spain and this is my first post:

I developed two sonic fan-games for PC (windows) as a project for a graphics college assignment, I think they're pretty good, but the last word is up to you.
I was wondering if they're good enough to be in the Sonic - Pirates section in the website, since "sonyc" is.

Ok, you've read enough, now check them out:

1.- Sonic MFC (based on Microsoft Foundation Libraries), a clone of Sonic the hedgehog 1 with different music, only 2 levels and a very interesting final boss. (2D Game)
Download link: Sonic MFC download (25.7 Mb)

2.- Sonic on a ball (must be INTO a ball, but i like how it sounds) (a blend of Super Monkey Ball and Sonic), in 3D!
Download link: Sonic on a ball download (17.5 Mb)

Your games aren't on a cart and being sold as legitimate in Hong Kong, then it doesn't count. It's just a hack.

Y'know, I, as well as the majority of the posters here, usually like to see screenshots of what we're downloading. As well, this was posted in the wrong board. But welcome anyway.

Yeah, right, but "sonyc" was available for msx on 3 1/2 '' floppy, wasn't it?, and the description says (... A fan game that's Actually good blah blah)

You're right, my bad..
Here we go:
Sonic MFC http://www.drop21.com/radex/sonicmfc.rar:

Sonic on a ball http://www.inmobiliariauro.com/radex/proyectoAIG.rar

Please tell me what would be the right board (I thought this was), and I'll be glad of posting this there, or the admin could move this thread.

Of course ithey're not hacks, just a fan games, is there any place for sonic fan games around here?

Thanks in advance :)

Well, okay. Why the hell graphics are SO fucked up? Everything looks like you cut every sprite from shitty magazine scan and saved it in 20% quality jpeg. Go google for some normal sprites.

Also, LOL:

Second game is so fucking hard, it almost took my shoulder off :D

I'm Spanish. And ashamed

haha, yeah. I made the whole thing in about two weeks so I had no time to surf
the net for better sprites/graphics, but you can replace files under the 'graficos' dir. Anyway the overall graphics in the 3D version are better, but it has some other weak points.

The boss as you can see is a little bastard, i made it that way since the game was very short, so I wanted something a little challenging, but you can also adjust the game difficulty using the 'configuracion' menu as well as change some other settings like the background image and the game speed.
You can create your own levels using 'archivo>nuevo>nivel'

Thanks for playing dude :-)

So what exactly makes your fangame more special than the hundreds of other fangames that don't get featured on this site?
LordOfSquad
Beats me. But this guy is gone for a week month, just to let you know.

I eagerly await his return because I want an answer.

Hi, it's me (radex)

Sorry for the delay..
I got my account suspended until jul 15 without any explanation and without response from the admin (government?) either, so I registered a new one just to answer....

Following on from your question:
In fact they're not special , there are way better sonic fan games (bosser jerome's sonic GL in fact, was awesome (at least the videos), they can't be compared), just wanted to let you know they existed, and give you the chance to play with them. If you or anybody feel that they can be featured as "pirate", or "fan games" ok then, if not that's ok too.

I just wanted to contribute to research about sonic fan games.

Greetings.
khorney
so yeah, they're not to hot on ban-dodging here, so you'll probs be perma banned now. oh well. and i would hardly classify this as 'research'

I banned you. You bumped a 2 year topic. Now you bandodged, so this account is gone too, and the other is going to be permabanned if you bandodge again. You're lucky to get this warning instead of me just permabanning both of them.

Y'know, as terrible as the sonic mfc game is, it has a couple of redeeming qualities, such as fully uncompressed art, and a fucking level editor. You can also put in your own backgrounds. Transparencies are confusing as shit in this program, though.

Pedobear dropping heads of popular memes. Lol.

edit: I tried the monkeyball knockoff too. Not bad, and I like messing with the coordinates to really fuck up the stage. :D

You could had used SDL or something similar instead of MFC, but well, it's ok. :\
