Advertised for release (where??), and rumours of proto copies have circulated for a while. GameGear version was released.
<li>Duck Tales (Sega)

Sonic Chaotix? Was that ever a confirmed title for anything? There's a graphic that says "Sonic Crackers 32x" inside the earliest Chaotix prototype we have.

My guess would be no. Probally some magazine getting it wrong.
moar puddin
Hate to be a bother, but would Knuckles Ring Star fall into 32x Alternate Development titles?
IUG
The Penn and Teller Up in Smoke game was released on the internet. I bet it's on BitGamer right now.
drx
The problem with crawling stuff from the internet is that the internet is full of bullshit when it comes to unreleased games and all.

E.g. Ecco 32x never existed.

edit: why do i even bother lol
moar puddin
Oh yeah, did these ever have official names

Mecha Sally
A little FYI... the "Magical Fantasy Adventure" game listed under Sega CD alternate dev titles was a subtitle for Popful Mail. Maybe it was a separate game or something, I dunno... just thought I'd drop that little tidbit.

(it's a bit hard to read the subtitle but it's there)
The Government
don't forget Sonic Mars
moar puddin
There we go, that knocks out my second pic, and after reading the Xtreme part of Sonic Cult, it seems that my first pic is either Sonic Xtreme on the genesis, or something that was so early in dev that they never named it.
ICEknight
Some stuff:

-Astropede for Genesis is missing.
-There's a post in these forums that mentions two games called "Dando" and "Hollo Fighter" for Genesis, and somebody else mentions that "Hollo Fighter" was just another name for "Super Hydlide".
-Penn & Teller's game was called "Smoke and Mirrors" in the recently released version.
-Speaking of it, Buzz Bombers is actually part of Penn & Teller's.
-I think I've indeed read in some old magazine about "Sonic Chaotix" in a Q&A section, but yeah, it could have been a misunderstanding on the magazine's part. Also, I'm pretty sure I've read a mention to "Sonic Chaos 2" for SMS in that same section of the magazine, but I don't know how reliable would that be.
-I've always seen the subtitle of "Socks the cat" as "Rocks the Hill", instead of "Rockin' the White House". I don't know where Segabase got that one from.
madechidna
Jeez, it almost seems like there were more games planned than released! I would have liked to see Descent on the 32x, that game rocks.
tithin
You know, I'm pretty sure I saw Syndicate Wars released on the saturn in the UK.

32x: Alternate development titles:
Afterburner Complete
Cyber Brawl
Stellar Assault

not alternate dev titles. just japanese titles. Cyber Brawl is the japanese title for Cosmic Carnage. Stellar Assalut is the PAL and JPN name for Shadow Squadron. Afterburner Complete was the japanese name. The "Complete" was droppped off the US boxart but still said "Complete" on the title screen.

Also, the earliest "Zaxxon's Motherbase 2000" proto's were known simply as "Motherbase"

however these...
32x: Alternate development titles:
Black Thorne
Brutal Unleashed
NBA Jam Tournament Edition

"Black Thorne" is probly a mag spelling "Blackthorne" wrong.
NBA Jam Tournament Edition... um it may be popularly known as "NBA Jam T.E." But it says Tournament Edition on the box below the T.E.
"Brutal Unleased" is is a tricky one.. "Brutal Unleashed" most definitely was it's dev name, they were pimping it as being "Unleased on 32X" at the time. Now, it says "Brutal Unleashed" on the ingame title but "Brutal Above the Claw" on the actual box. So someone changed the name last minute, after ROM production had already begun methinks.

For SEGA Genesis/Megadrive alternate titles, "Desert Strike: Return to the Gulf" used to be called "Apache AHX: Desert Madman". Got it from an early ad for the game, which I have scanned.
For SEGA Genesis/Megadrive unreleased games, there is a port of "Prince of Persia 2: The Shadow and the Flame" that never got released, or finished even. drx dumped it, however!

I've recently found some unreleased sega cd, but it will cost me, lol.

I have a Blackthorne 32x proto that I can't dump. I need ~$80 for a new eprom reader that can read these kind of EPROMs (it's a very unusual cart, first time I ever saw one like these, and I have a LOT). I used to know a guy with X-Men 32x and Virtua Hamster 32x but he sold them.

Actually, there are several 32x protos that I could get right now, including Kolibri, and some other stuff maybe. It's just a matter of enough cash, heh.

Fucking kolibri? Isn't that that hummingbird game? I'm interested.
doc eggfan
Yes indeed. I have the final game but I haven't played it in ages. It was made by the same guys as Ecco the Dolphin, but I was a little disappointed with the end product. It looked beautiful, but it was far too easy. I wanted something more like Ecco, but it's really more like a shoot-em-up, which in and of itself is no bad thing, but I wanted more taxing puzzles, more storyline, more dependency on nectar in a similar fashion to Ecco's dependency on air. I'd be interested to know if any earlier builds were more like what I wanted, and if the final game was dumbed down to appease the 'Ecco is too hard' whingers.
